Arturo Zacarias, is a 2001 graduate of the Arizona Law Enforcement
Academy and an accomplished law enforcement professional with experience
performing in the following capacities:
- Patrol officer
- Field training officer
- AZ POST general Detective instructor
- Title IV / liquor law instructor
- Fake ID recognition instructor
- Liaison for the Department of Liquor, to several law enforcement agencies, tribal
nations, and community organizations statewide
Since joining the Department in 2012, Arturo has conducted hundreds of formal
training classes pertaining to Arizona liquor laws and fake ID recognition to law
enforcement officers around the State of Arizona. In addition, Arturo has conducted
hundreds of training sessions of certified liquor law training, furthering education in
the Departments mission of addressing issues stemming from underage,
over service, acts of violence and wrong way drivers. Aside from these trainings,
Arturo has participated in squad briefings to officers from various agencies, prior to
their enforcement details, and as a means of topic-specific training.
Prior to Arturo's assignment to the Departments Education and Prevention Unit,
Arturo worked in the Departments Investigations Unit. As a senior detective, Arturo
focused on complex liquor investigations, while assisting local agencies promote
public safety in their communities and throughout the state of Arizona.
Arturo holds a Master's degree in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor's degree in Justice
Studies, an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice Studies, a certificate as a
Substitute Teacher, and a certificate in Career and Technical Education from the
Arizona Department of Education.
