Jessica Valadez joined the Education and Prevention Unit in 2024, as a non-sworn Prevention Specialist. She is an accomplished professional with experience performing in the following capacity:

• Former Officer with San Bernardino County and Maricopa County Adult Probation
• Former Defensive Tactics Instructor
• Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's) Trainer Certification
• Youth Mental Health First Aide Trainer Certification
• Certified Facilitator for One Circle Foundation, NCTI, PAX Tools, Parent Project and Botvin Lifeskills

With 15 years of experience in corrections and community supervision, Jessica brings a great amount of knowledge and insight in establishing trust and healthy partnerships in the community. She made a career change in 2021 from an Officer to a Prevention/Outreach Coordinator for Substance Misuse. Her passion for helping others, specifically the youth in our communities, is what helped her make the decision to shift her purpose. Since working in prevention, Jessica has established strong partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, businesses and schools to help bring awareness to our community and achieve the common goal, educating our communities and saving lives.
